My essentials

Hello out there in blog land!! Boy have I been busy, busy, busy!! I have gotten such a boost in confidence since convention! I am rockin my network marketing biz like never before!! I'm tellin y'all, great thing happen at events!! There were many awesome moments at convention that got me pumped up, but in the quieter days since I've been home I have been able to have those light bulb, 'aha', ideas that have really changed how I look at and run my business. I've also had the chance to start putting those ideas into practice to see if they really work. I now refer to them my essentials; the things that I MUST do daily. I want to share those with y'all today.

First and foremost, I have dedicated myself to starting each day with quiet time with God. My life and my business are dedicated to him, they are fully his to use, tools to glorify him. So I start my day with Him. I ask him for guidance, for the wisdom and words to speak, I ask him to send me the people that need to be touched by our products and/or our company. I ask God to help me draw nearer to him and glorify him in all that I do and I also ask him to bless my life and my business. This one simple and easy thing sets the tone for my entire day. And crazy is it may sound to some people I truly believe what I pray, what I read in the Bible and what my Heavenly Daddy and I talk about. I have faith that he is leading me down this Plexus Journey and that he is fully in control and will bless me beyond measure if I am seeking and following him daily.

The other thing I have decided to really stick too and make sure it gets done each day is reading! I make it a point to read SOMETHING about network marketing every single day. Even if it is just one short blog or article I read something every day to further my knowledge of this business, my company, my products, etc. I have always loved learning. I believe that to stop learning new things is to stop living. I want to learn something new every day. By reading and learning it not only helps me be a better network marketer or to have a better social media presence but it also keeps me motivated. It keeps stoking the fire in me instead of letting my motivation and drive and desire dwindle.

In many past endeavors in my life I have gotten all pumped up and excited. I mean I was on FIYA! Then, over time, my fire died down to just a few smoldering embers. If I went to a meeting here and there or got a random new customer the fire might perk up a little, then another period of no activity would come along with it's cold wind and just blow the fire right out. Eventually, I always just gave up. But what I have learned from Plexus, from past experiences, and from convention is that it is solely my responsibility to keep that fire lit. It's not up to my sponsor or my up-line. It's not up to my company or someone hosting meetings and events near me. It's not up to my down-line or my customers. It's not up to anyone but ME to keep my desire and passion and motivation burning. So I seek out motivation every day. I read something every day.

The third thing I MUST do is watch one video from our company YouTube channel every day. They post diamond documentaries every Thursday. I used to share those with potential team members but wouldn't actually watch them myself. Boy was I the one missing out!! At convention I decided that I AM going to be diamond. So why not watch what other diamonds look like, act like, how they speak, what they do to be successful. After all, isn't duplication what it's all about? If I'm not duplicating the greats how will my team duplicate greatness? So I watch one video every day. It motivates me, it sparks that desire in me that says 'I want that too and NOTHING will stand in my way to get it!'.

Last, but certainly not least, I post on social media multiple times a day. Although I am on several sites, Facebook is my main source and usual go-to. Facebook is where I have the biggest bulk of my activities. I post a couple times a day in other social media sites. But my Facebook fan page is where I really feel comfortable; it is the thing that I feel fits me best and I do my best work. So I post there multiple times a day. I even schedule posts in advance to save me some time or when I know I won't be around. I don't post all Plexus all the time. I try to post health tips, funny jokes to lighten the mood, anecdotes about what's going on in my world. I just try to be myself on social media. I don't stress myself out trying to be perfect or too serious all the time. I find my creative side and that continues to inspire me and keep me going.

So my advice to every one out there, if you're building a network marketing business or not, is this:

  1. Spend time with the man up stairs, it'll set your entire world on the right path.
  2. Never stop learning.
  3. Find something or someone that inspires you daily.
  4. Just be yourself!!
  5. Have fun, always!!
That's it! Those five things will keep you motivated, keep the fire burning, and help you be the best network marketer you can be! You were destined for greatness! So get out there and BE GREAT!! Much love, y'all!!

Weight Loss Wednesday

Howdy folks! It's Weight Loss Wednesday!! So I wanna share a little story that is very close to my heart. My sweet mama's testimony.

My mother had medical problems for the majority of her adult life. She has struggled with her health for 30+ years. By February of 2013 I felt like I was just watching her slowly wither away and that one day soon I would be burying her.

Then, something wonderful happened. My older sister was introduced to Plexus Slim and immediately told me I had to get mom on it. Being financially strapped as a single mom and care-giver to my mom I had to do some serious praying and soul searching before I invested in this stuff. But in the end I took a very small portion of my income tax return and signed us up. I got mom started on the products on February 15, 2013.
This is her on Easter Sunday 2013.

Buying that welcome pack was one of the best decisions I ever made. By the time we hit our 4th month into Plexus mom was totally off of her 5 insulin shots a day. She was down to taking only her diabetes pill. Over the next few months she continued to need fewer and fewer medicines. She is now off of her blood thinners, her cholesterol medicine, her migraine medicine, her narcotic pain pills and muscle relaxers, and cut the dose of her blood pressure medicine in half. And we had signed her up as an ambassador as well!
This is her now:

She finally has her life back! It's been 16 months now and she feels 20 years younger! Although she will never be "cured" of her illnesses and Plexus Slim does not cure, treat, or diagnose anything, she finally FEELS better. Her blood sugar isn't sky rocketing past 300 every day anymore. She sleeps better than ever. She can even enjoy playing with her grandchildren!! Not to mention that she has lost 65 pounds total! I feel like I bought back many years of life with her when I bought that welcome pack.

We love our lives now, losing weight, feeling great, and helping others along the way!

It's not about up selling

Raise your hand if you've ever been to that famous sandwich shop that a certain man lost a lot of weight walking to every day? You know the one I'm talking about, with their $5 foot longs. Okay, put your hands down, we have ALL been to one at least once and I can't see your hands anyway. Just think back to your last visit for a moment with me. The last time I was there I started with a 6 inch flat bread that was on the low calorie list and had already promised myself no cheese and no high fat condiments. And then, it happened, I got a super friendly server who was REALLY good at his job! Before I knew it I had a toasted foot long value meal with cheese and extra everything. Yet again I was the victim of the 'up sale'.  I had way more than 350 calories and spent way more than $5. So I know how people feel and why they get skeptical and say 'no' when they think someone is just trying to talk them into 'more, more, more'.

But what if it's not just about the up sale? What if it's not just about the money? What if someone was really concerned about you as the customer and what you need to improve your life and your health? Just... what if?

Let me ask you something else. Have you ever heard of candida yeast overgrowth? Less than 10 years ago no one knew anything about candida. Most had never heard of it, most of the people and doctors who had heard if it thought it was a hoax, and the ones who did believe it were lumped in with those nutty conspiracy theorists and 'Elvis is alive' folks. But fast forward to today and although we still don't know EVERY thing about candida we are learning. People are beginning to go "ahhhhh they WERE right!". Doctors are beginning to recognize things like candida overgrowth and leaky gut syndrome. Most doctors today even recommend that EVERY one take some type of probiotic 'just in case'.

But there are still some naysayers out there. Some who say 'oh EVERY one has those symptoms, they are normal, y'all are just trying to fool us'. Let's think about this for a moment though, shall we? Just because something is common doesn't mean it is normal, right? I mean take a look around at the people you spend most of your time with; how many of them have seasonal allergies? Are allergies normal or just common? Do you think our bodies were designed to have allergies from the very beginning?

When you are born you have a microscopic amount of fungus in your GI tract. The only logical explanation any doctors or scientists have come up with to explain why is that once you die that fungus would begin to grow and feed and help your body decompose. I know, gross, but highly necessary. But what happens if that fungus started to grow and multiply before you were dead? How many of you have ever taken any form of antibiotic? How about oral contraceptives? Do you have beer or alcohol on a fairly regular basis? Do you enjoy rolls or bread at dinner? All of those things, and more, contain yeast and sugars that fungus and bacteria like candida just LOVE. I mean they REALLY love it, like I love chocolate and strawberry margaritas at certain times of the month. Candida just can not get enough of it!

So now think about how many people you know, including yourself possibly, who have any of these symptoms:
  1. Skin and nail fungal infections (such as athlete’s foot or toenail fungus)
  2. Feeling tired and worn down or suffering from chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia
  3. Digestive issues such as bloating, constipation, or diarrhea
  4. Autoimmune disease such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Ulcerative colitis, Lupus, Psoriasis, Scleroderma or Multiple sclerosis
  5. Difficulty concentrating, poor memory, lack of focus, ADD, ADHD and brain fog
  6. Skin issues such as eczema, psoriasis, hives, and rashes
  7. Irritability, mood swings, anxiety, or depression
  8. Vaginal infections , urinary tract infections, rectal itching or vaginal itching
  9. Severe seasonal allergies or itchy ears
  10. Strong sugar and refined carbohydrate cravings
You're thinking of a bunch of people right now aren't you? So these symptoms are pretty common, right? Does that mean they are normal? Does that mean we have to live with them? So what if I told you that I had something that could help you get rid of all of that? Would you think I was just trying to up-sale you? Would you think I just wanted to make a few more bucks? Or would you believe me when I told you I found freedom from all of those things and I really, REALLY, want the rest of the world to be free of them as well? Give me just 10-15 minutes of your time and let me tell you about our products and how life changing they could be for you and your loved ones. Trust me, it's not about the money or getting you to buy more products. I really care about your health. Find me of Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/plexusslimbyJordan and let's chat!

Share Something Saturday

Have you ever tried something new, gotten really excited, told everyone, and then felt like it was a total flop? I have! So today I want to share a failure of mine with you guys and how I turned it around!

I started Plexus last year and got so excited I couldn't shut up about it. I was spewing Plexus every where I went. But when it came to network marketing, or even knowing my products, I had NO CLUE what I was doing. I was losing weight and having some temporary success on the business end though so I kept going. Then 8 months into it, I hit a brick wall in my weight loss and my business. One day at work I over heard someone say "I don't know why she keeps talking about that Plexus crap, she doesn't look like she's losing any more." I was so devastated. I went in the bathroom and cried for 20 minutes.

For a couple weeks after that I allowed myself to wallow in my failure and feel so down about myself that I stopped really working my business or paying attention to it. But then my mom reminded me that it's not always about the scale. She said "maybe you haven't lost any more pounds lately, but have you gained any back? and when was the last time you had a migraine or a fibro flare up?" That got me back on track!

I vowed right then to commit my business and myself to the Lord and started educating myself on network marketing, following some other very successful people, I committed to finding something each day to keep me inspired, I promised to remind myself of my "why" every day. I started working my business like my life depended on it. It was slow at first but the little things are beginning to pay off. Activity in my business is starting to change. And I added the new Boost to my regime and the weight loss is picking back up again!

This business is not always easy... it is HARD WORK, and there are going to be days when you want to throw in the towel. But just stop for a minute, take a deep breath, remember why you got started in the first place, and then make a game plan to go at the problem from a different angle and see where it takes you! Happy Saturday guys and don't quit, don't give up, you might be just one more no away from the yes that will change your entire career!

Believe it and Achieve it

Have you guys ever felt like you couldn't do meetings or parties or presentations because you just don't know what to say? Have you ever felt like you'd say all the wrong things or you'd just really mess it up? Have you let that fear hold you back from approaching people or hosting events, or even attending events, that you know would help your business?? Well guess what... you're not alone!

I have been in this business a little over a year now and I have a confession to make. I have just been treading water, winging it if you will. I have been "dabbling" in network marketing and not even taking myself or the business as serious as I should. Wanna know why? Strictly because of fear. Simple as that. I have allowed my fears to hold me back. My fear of failing. My fear of what other people will say or think about me. My fear of looking foolish. My fear of not being good enough. All of those fears have gotten into my head and my heart and twisted my way of thinking until I really believed there was no use in trying.

But ya know what I have discovered lately? Those negative thoughts in my head are the only real failure here. You see if you make a mistake but you learn something from it, you're one step closer to where you want to be. If you stumble and fall but get back up and try again in a different way, you haven't failed, you're still getting closer to your goal. Forward motion is the key here. Giving up and quitting... now that is REAL failure. If I give up now, when success might be right around the corner, won't I look like even more of a fool than if I hadn't tried at all?

I have to change my way of thinking. I have to get it into my head that I can achieve my goals and my dreams. I WILL achieve my goals and my dreams. The people who are laughing or think I can't do it... WATCH ME! It's not going to be easy, and changing my bad habits and negative thoughts and ideas might take a little time and a lot of effort, but it WILL be done. I will rise above the lies that the enemy has put in my head. I will dream big and shoot for the moon... even if I miss at least I will land among the stars, right? You can change your way of thinking too. You can believe in yourself too if you try!

Get out there and do your THANG!!!

It's only Thursday?!?

Wow! I can not believe it is only Thursday! This week has been so jam-packed, busy my head is almost spinning! Things have been a little crazy, but a good kinda crazy! The busier I am the more productive I tend to be. You see I am one of the world's worst procrastinators. The more time I have on my hands the more time I will waste! If I wake up "late" for work [by late I mean anymore than one push of the snooze button] and have to rush, rush, rush to get ready I will be on time, maybe even a couple minutes early. If I wake up "on time" or "early" [before the alarm goes off or without hitting snooze at all] I will be at least 3-5 minutes late... every time. The more time I have, the more time I waste! So having a busy week has actually been pretty good for me! Aside from not getting to blog anyways! :)

This week I have had to work my "real" job, which normally would not add any craziness to my week. However, this week we have some pretty big time people with official badges monitoring us to make sure every thing is up to par. That automatically gave my week an extra nudge toward crazy, hectic, and stressful. Then we had a T-ball game Monday night, an opportunity meeting Tuesday night, T-ball practice and a webinar Wednesday night. Tonight we have another T-ball game. This afternoon I have a phone call scheduled with a potential customer. Yesterday one of my first level ambassadors added a new ambassador. Saturday we have ANOTHER T-ball game! So far Friday is open but that could change at any second!

So all in all, it's been a exhausting and wonderful at the same time! I learned so much at convention and I have been trying to put those things into practice. Such as the 'Perfect 10'. My goal is that each week I will share my opportunity with 3 new people. I will share some type of skills training with 3 team members. I will attend at least 1 event. So far this week I have attended an event, shared the opportunity with 3 people, and shared some skills training with two. I have also posted a few small tips in my team facebook page but I am not going to count that in my perfect 10. I need to push myself further out of my comfort zone and really strive for what I want instead of holding back and taking short cuts or cop outs like I have in the past.

I read several articles and a blog post yesterday that really got me to thinking. The blog post was about 3 habits in network marketing that can make or break your career. If you are doing these habits you will SOAR and if you're not... you will surely sink. When I read it, I got to thinking about how I have been doing in the past on those 3 habits. I have to hang my head in shame for a moment. Although I have been consistent in posting on social media I have gotten lax about every thing else, and sometimes even that! I tend to make a post or two and leave it at that. Like throwing out a line and hoping a fish will bite. I haven't gotten out there and REALLY worked at my business every, single day. Gotta work on that.

Habit number 2, follow up.... I know, I know... the fortune is in the follow up. But if I have to be completely honest here, I am lazy in my follow up and I allow social acceptance and fears to stop me from really doing what I should. Two things I took from convention:
1. From the wonderful @EricWorre "embrace the temporary loss of social esteem from ignorant people". Some people are ignorant of what network marketing can do and will do for your life if you really work at it. You can not change those peoples' minds. You can not force it on them. You can lead a person to MLM but you can't make them work it. So some people are going to think I'm crazy, they will probably talk about me, but I have to learn to be okay with that and stop taking it to heart.
2. From the brilliant @VictorAntonio 80% of people stop trying any kind of follow up after 3 'no's. On average it takes FIVE exposures for people to commit to signing up or buying. FOLLOW UP! FOLLOW UP! FOLLOW UP! and Keep asking until someone says YES!
So I really gotta work on that habit for sure! I have been part of the 80% giving up after one, two, or three negative responses. I will REALLY have to step out of my comfort zone for this one.

And habit number 3, follow through. Do what you say you're going to do every single time. I believe Eric Worre talks about this in his book "Go Pro" as well. You have to be consistent and reliable and consistently reliable. If you say "I'm going to call you on  Thursday" call them on Thursday! Don't call on Wednesday and don't call on Friday with a bad excuse for being flaky. If you say, I will be bring you some brochures and material to look at... BRING THEM THE MATERIALS! If you are reliable every time during the sharing/signing up process your customers and potential team members will feel they can depend on you and like you will be there for them later on when they have problems or questions or need your support. If you are not reliable now they will feel like you're going to take their money and run. Network marketing is about RELATIONSHIPS! You have to build a solid relationship, one with trust, lots and lots of trust!

In my opinion number 3 is probably the MOST important here. You have to sell yourself in this business. But if you get any one of these wrong, the other two will probably fall apart too. I know I have a ton of work to do on these 3 habits. When I get these habits down to where I don't even think about it, when it becomes second nature, then I know my business will begin to grow by leaps and bounds!
I hope you guys get an 'ah ha' moment out of this, I know I have already! Time to go rock this business and Do my THANG!!!

Why attend events?

Whew! We have made it home from Plexus Freedom convention 2014. I am a bit weary and tired but I OVERLY excited and fired up. I wanted to blog the entire time we were gone but our schedule was so crazy full that it just couldn't happen. I like to devote at least some time, thought, and effort to the things I write and there was just no way to do that this weekend. My brain was on overload from the moment we stepped foot into the Omni Dallas Hotel to get registered and pick up our goodie bags. So I waited until now... 9 pm on Sunday night, we have barely been home an hour, hour and a half, and I go back to the "real" job in the morning. Yeah... my brain is still not fully functioning so bare with me y'all! If I get to rambling and not making much since just scroll on down to the comments section and tell me to hush up and try again later!!

Anywho, let's get on with it! The one thing that is really sticking in my mind right now as I think of what I should write about first is this, "Stars are born at events, but you can't be born if you're not there." This was said by one of our wonderful CEOs at convention this year. It really struck a chord with me. I have heard this phrase, "stars are born at events", a thousand times, but I guess I was only half listening. You see, I didn't go to convention last year. I had 1,000 excuses and it doesn't really matter which reason it was that let me justify not going, but I didn't go. So over the last year every time I heard this phrase I would try to make myself feel better again by saying "oh, what do they know? I didn't go last year and I'm still going to be a star."

However... I will never say that ever, ever again. Instead, I will now say... stars are born at events and you can't be born if you're not there! SO BE THERE!!! No matter what business you are in, what type of MLM, if you're in Plexus with me or another company, if you're in my downline, my upline, or my way-over-there-line, listen to me when I say this; Never, NEVER, NEVER, miss another big event that your company hosts... EVER. I mean it. BE THERE, for every event, every time.

This weekend I was allow to be a part of hours upon hours of FREE network marketing/MLM training. I got to listen to the very best network marketing guru on the planet talk to us about going all in, honing your skills, WORKING your business for all it's worth, and the importance of attending events. Then I got to hear all about our company being featured in a highly acclaimed magazine that is on news stands today but because I was at convention I was able to get my hands on some of these magazines to use as marketing tools to further my business. THEN I got to listen to the best motivational speaker I have ever seen/heard before in my life, who also happens to have made a fortune in sales and bestowed upon us some INCREDIBLE tips and information to further our businesses [because he loooooooves us].

The things I heard and learned and experienced this weekend are PRICELESS and will add immeasurable value to my business and my future. Being at convention and hearing these things first hand, learning them for myself, far surpasses learning it after the fact from my upline or fellow ambassadors when they come home. Of course my upline held a training last year after convention, of course she gave us all the info and tips and notes she had taken there. And did I learn any thing from it? Well, sure I did. But did I get all fired up, put it into practice, take the ball and run with it, or skyrocket my business with any of it? Well, no, now that ya mention it, I didn't.

This year I heard and learned and experienced it all for myself and I am going to skyrocket all the way to the moon. This year I am fired up, I am motivated, I am ON FIRE. I have so much info that I am about to put into practice. I am going to practice what I've learned. I am going to take the ball and run with it. I am going to the very TOP! I am making a decision and a goal for myself right now. Right here, in writing, so every one who ever reads this will know. By this time next year I WILL be high enough and making enough money that I will not be worried about going back to any old "real" job the Monday after convention. I am putting my nose to the grindstone, I am putting every thing else on hold, I am committing myself right now to working my BUTT OFF this whole next year to get where I want to be. I am doing my THANG!! Who's with me??
